The Botanical Park is located just 18 kilometers outside the city, at the foot of the White Mountains. Shortly after Fournes village and before the village Laki, a sign will show you the direction to the Botanical Park.

The climate has contributed to the creation of a very rich flora, with different ecosystems that comprise a set of rare diversity.

The Botanical park of Crete is the only park - garden in Europe, that hosts fruit trees and herbs. It is also unique in the world for its great biodiversity, There are over 150 different types of fruit trees from around the world, dozens of different herbs - spices and medicinal plants and also hundreds of different ornamental plants.

Also, the park has an outdoor, stone atmospheric amphitheater suitable for small (up to about 250 people) events.
